Re: Banner Finance Training Update

If you have attended End-User Banner Finance training and have a quick question or two, please attend one of the upcoming Self-Service Banner Finance Open Forum/Solutions Center sessions. Questions regarding system access, budget or encumbrance queries, project inception-to-date budgets and balances, purchase requisitions and approvals, correcting a purchase requisition using INB (Internet Native Banner), and vendor payments will be addressed by functional experts. Pre-registration is not required.  Please stop by with your questions and Self-Service Banner Finance experts will be on-hand to assist in resolving them with you. These sessions are scheduled for:
  • Thursday, September 10 (2-3 PM) in GITC 2315
  • Thursday, September 17 (2-3 PM) in GITC 2315
  • Friday, September 25 (10-11 AM) in GITC 2315

Immediately following each ‘Open Forum/Solutions Center’ session, the Purchasing Department will present a one-hour Purchasing Refresher Course that will cover the entire purchasing cycle.  The pre-requisite for this refresher course is having previously completed Self-Service Banner Finance training.  The Purchasing Refresher Course is recommended for those individuals who have primary purchasing responsibilities for their department and may have encountered some initial problems with requisition entry using Self-Service Banner.  Due to limited space, pre-registration is required, so please register by contacting Jessica Villacis in the Budget Office at extension 3125.

Individuals that require Self-Service Banner Finance Training that have not previously attended one of these sessions can register by contacting Jessica Villacis in the Budget Office at extension 3125. This three hour hands-on training session will be sufficient to get you started using Self-Service Banner Finance.  Limited space is still available. Note that sessions will be cancelled if pre-registration is less than ten. The current schedule for these sessions is:

  • Thursday, September 17 (9 AM – 12 noon) in GITC 2315
  • Friday, October 2 (9 AM – noon) in GITC 2315

Thank you.
